Archie Hamilton Returns to his MicroHertz Label with ‘Motion Lotion’ EP

One of the UK’s most spectacular dance floor conductors, Archie Hamilton, returns to his MicroHertz label for the first time this year with the splendid two-tracker, Motion Lotion EP.

The record follows a myriad of impressive releases from the minimal house and techno tastemaker in 2022, such as his Kick It EP on Dansu Discs and his contributions to SUKHUMVIT’s five-year-anniversary compilation. It’s been an eventful summer for Archie, most of which was spent traveling to festivals around the globe and storming the club scene on the island of Ibiza, where he also recently got married (congrats)!

Kicking things off with the EP’s title track, “Motion Lotion” swings into full effect with a subdued melody, hardy basslines, jacking rhythms, and a pinch of acid. The b-side, “Beat Back,” is a flavorful and talkative tune with eerie synth work and vocoders that make for a dazed clubland adventure that perfectly encapsulates the MicroHertz sound. Listen below.
