Listen to Moderat's New Album 'More D4TA'
Following a six-year hiatus, Moderat make a triumphant return with their fourth studio album, More D4TA — out now via Monkeytown Records.
Beloved super trio Moderat, made up of Modeselektor duo Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary and Sascha Ring (Apparat), have returned with their highly anticipated fourth studio album, More D4TA.
Back in 2017, following the international tour around their critically acclaimed album III, the group announced that they would be going on a hiatus, sparking fears amongst their global fanbase that this was the end of Moderat. Lucky for us, those fears turned out to be unfounded.
Over the past six years, Apparat released his abyssal and stripped-down LP5 album while Modeselektor kept themselves busy building up the roster and catalouge of their Monkeytown imprint with albums and mixtapes like Who Else and Extended with tons of remix packages to boot.
After spending months in the studio together, indulging in their most experimental sonic ideas and rediscovering the collective magic that first set dance floors aflame when they started the project back in 2009, Moderat announced their forthcoming return in February of 2022.
And now, the long wait is over. Spanning 10-tracks, More D4TA grapples with the themes of isolation and concerns for the future that have been all too familiar over these past two years. A dynamic celebration of art and reacquaintance, More D4TA sees the group successfully lock into the distinctive sound and aesthetic they’ve made their own over the past two decades. Listen below.
