Beatport Insider: Top-Selling Tracks, Artists, and Labels of the Year, So Far (2023)
With Beatport Insider, we look at key stats from the Beatport store each month. This time, we look at the artists, tracks, and labels across all genres that have dominated Beatport’s sales and streaming charts over the past six months with our 2023 mid-year review.
Taking home the top accolade of Beatport’s most purchased track of 2023 as we reach the year’s halfway mark is the mighty Australian dance floor conductor Dom Dolla and American house music legend MK for their Q-Tip sampled collaboration, “Rhyme Dust.” Coming in at number two is “Baby Again..” by the indomitable arena trio — commonly known as Pangbourne House Mafia — that consists of Fred Again.., Four Tet, and Skrillex.
In addition, the latter of the three (Skrillex) has come in as Beatport’s top-selling artist of the year following his surprise duel album drop of Quest For Fire and Don’t Get Too Close in February. Following close behind is the melodic techno maestro Anyma at number two and Glasgow Underground’s head honcho Kevin McKay at number three.
Defected keeps its crown as Beatport’s overall best-selling label, with Adam Beyer’s techno powerhouse imprint Drumcode coming in at number two and Mark Knight’s behemoth dance floor institution Toolroom coming in at number three.
As we enter into the festival season, the deluge of dance floor weapons that are primed and ready for rave are immense and glorious. There is still plenty of year left and many more tracks to come before we crown our overall top tracks, artists, and labels of 2023, but take a temperature check of where we stand so far with the lists below!
*** Due to a numerical error in Beatport’s analytics system, Glasgow Underground was previously posted as our number one top-selling label of the year (so far). The correct artist and label standings have since been updated, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
