Following the release of her critically acclaimed 2021 album Play With The Changes on Young Art Records, Los Angeles-based artist Rochelle Jordan has tapped an elite list of producers to put their own unique spin on her record with Play With The Changes Remixed. Listen below.
The remix album touches on a multitude of different genres — drum & bass, UKG, deep house, breaks, club, and more — expanding the LP’s sonic landscape with a brilliant assortment of sounds. Kaytranada brings his trademark beats and swing to “All Along,” with Byron The Aquarius following suit with his groove-enhanced “Something” remix.
Machinedrum, Kingdom, KLSH, and Sinistarr fire up the breaks with their contributions, while Soul Clap, &ME, Sango, Things You Say, and DJ Minx show off their dance floor ingenuity on tracks like “Situation,” “Broken Steel,” and “Already.” Last but not least, LSDXOXO takes on “Love You Good,” slowing down the album’s lush drum & bass opener into a gyrating and bawdy club banger.
In addition, Rochelle Jordan has put together a new Beatport chart with some of the remixes she adores most in this world to celebrate the release of her new remix album. Listen to the chart below or check it out here.
“These are some of my all-time favorite remix tracks. Some… dare I say, better than the original? I will say this list is a walk down memory lane for me. It kind of makes me a bit emotional when I listen through. Some from the past. Some current, but they all center around the best times of my life.” – Rochelle Jordan
