Lady Of The House Reveals Winners of its Debut Production Competition
The inaugural contest promotes women in dance music and the launch of a new eponymous record label.
After first announcing the launch of their label back in May, Lady of the House — an active female-led collective and community dedicated to championing women’s contribution to the dance music industry — has announced the winners of their inaugural music production competition.
After drawing in 350 submissions for their contest, the Lady Of The House team — Jaguar, Charlie Tee, Sam Divine, Becky Hill (also known as the “Godmothers”) — chose four winning producers for the label’s debut release. Each artist will receive a special support package as part of their release, including a remix of their track from a prominent artist, the chance to perform at events during ADE, and one-on-one mentorship from the Godmothers who A&R’d their tune. Meet the winners below!
Angel Lee
“Bill’s Groove (feat. LKP)” [picked by Jaguar]
Esther Turner
“Swayin'” [picked by Sam Divine]
EVALINA
“Vivid” [picked by Becky Hill]
Jamurai
“Meditation” [picked by Charlie Tee]
The first-ever release on Lady of the House’s new label follows the announcement that they are co-recipients of Beatport’s Gender Parity Initiative — a $100,000 investment dedicated to accelerating gender parity across the greater DJ music industry. With the grant, Lady of the House will invest in a number of female and non-binary artists through their artist development program, act as their label, and serve as a pipeline for emerging talent by giving female and non-binary artists a platform and a network of music industry experts.
