Dom Dolla Unleashes Hotly-Anticipated Single, "girl$"
The Australian producer notches his first release of 2024: one of dance/electronic’s most sought-after IDs.

The summer 2024 forecast: Hot temps, cerulean skies, and the ubiquity of “girl$” in clubland and across the festival circuit. Dom Dolla’s first release of the year doubles as one of dance/electronic’s most feverishly awaited singles and with it, Beatport’s 2023 Tech House Best Selling Artist of the Year just might have the genre’s coveted “song of the summer” status on lock.
“‘girl$’ was inspired by a conversation I had with a bunch of friends who were all tired of bad dates…and had eventually come to the conclusion they were giving up on the whole charade,” Dolla said. “I wrote the lyrics based upon a story a friend relayed to me about a wild night out she had.”
Fittingly, a song that germinated from a wild night is, has been, and will continue to soundtrack other wild nights. Among them are consecutive weekends in Indio Valley, where Dolla debuted the ID from Coachella’s Sahara Tent, as well as his recent set at EDC Las Vegas’ circuitGROUNDS. Still to come: his biggest-ever headline shows in Los Angeles (LA State Historic Park), New York (Forest Hills Stadium), and San Francisco (Bill Graham Civic Auditorium).
The single hits like a shot of pure adrenaline; it’s saucy, it’s empowering, it’s unequivocally for the “girl$.” Listen below.
Dom Dolla's single “girl$” is out now via Three Six Zero Recordings, Ministry of Sound (UK), and Sony Music(ANZ). Buy it on Beatport.
