After over a year of back and forth in the studio, German Grammy Award-winning DJ/producer Purple Disco Machine and Swedish superstar Benjamin Ingrosso have teamed up to release their eagerly anticipated single, "Honey Boy" — out now via Columbia Records.

Already a hot contender for "Song of the Summer," the melody of this hearty disco driver was first dreamed up by Ingrosso after a memorable night out in Stockholm. After hitting the studio to create the track's initial foundation, he reached out to disco revivalist Tino Piontek (aka Purple Disco Machine) to bring his authentic and celebrated nu disco touch to the tune.

To help bolster the song, the duo tapped the rising Jamaican artist Shenseea to help drive the track's radiant vocal work. And the final piece of the puzzle? The legendary Nile Rodgers contributes his trademark guitar licks to the arrangement, taking the track to new heights and putting his sound and stamp of approval on a song — like so many records he's featured on before — that will be a surefire dance floor hit. Listen below.

Purple Disco Machine tells the story in his own words:

"Benjamin sent the track to me late last year and I was immediately intrigued by its hook, infectious melody and overall funky vibes. I just couldn’t wait to really upgrade and highlight the disco and funk sensibilities of this one. Shenseea’s voice just fits the song perfectly and really complements Benjamin’s amazing vocal performance. Obviously with an artist name like mine it is pretty easy to guess that Nile Rodgers is one of my all-time heroes and someone I always dreamed of working with. Legend doesn’t really cover it!"
