Beatport shines a spotlight on Ferhat Albayrak's all-important techno imprint, Jeton Records — one of Turkey's finest techno labels and promoters.
Credited by the legendary Carl Cox as being "one of the best techno labels in the world," Jeton Records is all about creating quality and reliable dance floor weapons that never leave a DJ's arsenal.
Founded in 2009 by Turkish techno pioneer Ferhat Albayrak, the label initially acted as a vehicle for his own productions before expanding its horizons by becoming one of the region's most beloved techno promoters while also adding an extraordinary list of artists — both established acts and newcomers — to its roster. Some of these names include HSKA, Christian Smith, Drumcomplex, Uncertain, MarAxe, Danny Wabbit, and more.
Originally based in Istanbul, Turkey, Jeton specializes in melding "the myth of the east and the taste of the west" through the label's sound, ethos, and creative output.
Currently celebrating its 15-year anniversary with a killer 15 Years of Jeton compilation album, we caught up with Albayrak to learn more about his label's story and to point out some of Jeton's most essential tracks. Watch the video below.
