Beatport Launches BPXX Capsule: Celebrating 20 Years of Dance Music and DJ Culture

2024 is gearing up to be one of Beatport’s most significant years to date, with the arrival of BPXX — a year-long celebration filled with events and special programming as we commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary. To mark this milestone, Beatport has created a new web experience, the BPXX Capsule, which chronicles the remarkable 20-year history of our global community — made up of DJs, producers, and music enthusiasts from all walks of life — who have joined us in our mission to amplify and elevate the sounds of electronic music worldwide.

Beatport first came into existence in 2004, right around the onset of the digital music revolution, and uploaded its first track — Steve Smooth’s “Beatfreaker” (Jay Walker and David Garcia Retromode Remix) — to Beatport.com. Two decades later, Beatport has expanded and evolved into an unrivaled leader in the global music scene for DJs and producers, with millions of tracks available for streaming and download, its own proprietary and cutting-edge performance and production technology, and an extended family of strategically acquired music enterprises under its banner: Beatsource, Loopcloud, Plugin Boutique, ampsuite, LabelRadar, and International Music Summit (IMS).

Centered around the theme “Music Is Unstoppable,” BPXX begins with a new digital web experience that charts the course of Beatport’s evolution over the years. This interactive journey allows fans to relive pivotal moments, discover hidden gems, and unlock insights into the growth of genres, BPMs, charts, trends, and more.

As part of BPXX, the company will host several events and initiatives to celebrate dance music and its vibrant culture throughout 2024. This special programming below will be announced in the coming months.
