HeyDoc! joins RAWthentic’s ADE line-up and presents X-Raid’s first showcase

Following the release of ‘Rude Boys’ on RAWthentic, the Brazilian producer returns to Amsterdam as an artist and X-Raid’s label boss.

Hey Doc

A few months after making his Tomorrowland Belgium debut, HeyDoc! is preparing for a different kind of arrival in Amsterdam. On October 21, he and fellow Brazilian artist Annëto will present the first ADE showcase for their labels, X-Raid and NAFL. The following night, HeyDoc! joins the line-up of AMSTERAW by RAWTHENTIC, the imprint behind his latest EP, Rude Boys. As X-Raid’s label boss, he arrives at ADE with artists to introduce and a vision of his own to put before an international audience.

Released on September 4, Rude Boys marks HeyDoc!’s RAWthentic debut with three tracks that keep the pressure on the low end. Its title track sets a metallic bassline against robotic vocals, while “Concrete” draws tension from repetition, space and texture. “Don Choo” takes the EP’s most direct tech house route. Jungle and dub references surface in the samples and basslines, but the record’s personality comes through in how little each track needs to make its point.

The release lands in RAWthentic’s 20th anniversary year. HeyDoc!’s place on its ADE bill takes the connection beyond the catalogue: he will play OOSTerbar on October 22 alongside label boss Carlo Lio, Carabetta, Juheun, Michelle Sparks and others. It is a significant invitation for a producer whose recent releases have moved through Low Ceiling, HEXAGON and other international labels, each offering a different setting for his club sound.

X-Raid’s showcase asks something else of him. At 50: Hertz House & Techno Cafe on October 21, HeyDoc! shares the label’s side of the line-up with Carabetta, Avi Sic and Spencer Arnold, while Annëto brings her NAFL vision to the same night. Together, the two Brazilian label bosses have assembled an international bill on their own terms. With growing attention on producers from Brazil, the showcase gives HeyDoc! an opportunity to show what he hears in other artists and how he intends to build a community around that taste.

I know what it feels like to send music out and hope it finds the right people. With X-Raid, I get to be one of those people for another artist. Bringing the label to ADE makes that responsibility feel very real.

His Tomorrowland appearance put HeyDoc! before a new festival audience earlier this year. Amsterdam offers a closer view of the work behind the artist: a new release on a label with two decades of history, an invitation to join its party and a room where his own choices set the tone.
