Roland Leesker's interpretation of Soft House Company's 1990 House classic "What You Need" is out now on Definitive Recordings. First released on vinyl in June, the single now arrives digitally with two complementary takes: the Roland Leesker Original Mix and the extended Mysterious Eastern Force Edit.

The Original Mix stays close to the arrangement, groove and character of the original while introducing a new driving feel. On the eleven-minute Mysterious Eastern Force Edit, Leesker expands the idea further, adding a more energetic bassline and subtle acid elements for a hypnotic, club-focused result. The release also marks the first appearance of Mysterious Eastern Force, a new artist identity from Leesker.

Leesker was prompted to revisit the record after hearing it played by The Three Chairs during Movement in Detroit. He rebuilt the track from the ground up as his own cover version, framing the release as a tribute to original writer Claudio Rispoli, also known as DJ Mozart, and to the emotional connection that House music can retain across generations.

With "What You Need", Definitive Recordings connects a recognised early House record with a contemporary club interpretation from one of the scene's long-standing voices. The Original Mix and Mysterious Eastern Force Edit are available now.
