Upgrade Builds on a Huge 2026 with ‘Phenomenon / Jungle Sally’

Following the chart-topping success of ‘Knock’, the long-standing Drum & Bass producer returns to Crucast with a two-tracker spanning Jump Up and Jungle.

Upgrade Phenomenon Jungle Sally 16x9

Upgrade returns to Crucast with Phenomenon / Jungle Sally, continuing a strong 2026 for a producer who has spent over a decade establishing himself as one of the most trusted names in underground Drum & Bass. Released on 10 September, the two-track project brings together the heavier Jump Up direction of Phenomenon with the Jungle-infused Jungle Sally, showcasing two sides of an artist whose career has remained firmly connected to UK rave culture.

The release follows one of Upgrade’s biggest Crucast moments to date. June’s Knock / Revenge reached #1 on Beatport’s Drum & Bass Releases Chart and peaked at #4 across all releases, while Knock went on to reach #1 on the Drum & Bass Singles Chart. That success added to a catalogue built across more than a decade of releases, millions of streams and support from major selectors including Skrillex, Sub Focus, DJ Hazard and Logan D.

Where Knock reinforced Upgrade’s roots in heavier Jump Up, Phenomenon continues that thread into his latest Crucast outing. Jungle Sally takes the release in another direction, drawing from Jungle and widening the scope of the package without moving away from the rave culture at the centre of Upgrade’s identity. The contrast gives each side its own purpose while showing the range behind a producer often associated with some of the heavier corners of Drum & Bass.

The release is already carrying that momentum onto Beatport, with both tracks currently inside the Drum & Bass Top 40. Alongside July’s Subversion EP, Phenomenon / Jungle Sally continues an active year for Upgrade and strengthens a renewed run of releases that shows little sign of slowing down.
