Inside Epifania, the visual world behind HeyDoc!’s music

Five audiovisual episodes reveal a creative process where club music meets cinema, emotion and perception.

Hey Doc Epifania

HeyDoc!’s relationship with cinema has already found its way into his records. When speaking to Beatportal about ‘Way 2 High’, his collaboration with Avi Sic on HEXAGON, the Brazilian producer recalled watching ‘The Substance’ shortly before working on the track and bringing references from the film’s sound design into the drop. “I like that because it allows me to show a bit of my cinephile side through music”, he said.

That exchange between sound and image runs much deeper in Epifania. Conceived by HeyDoc! with audiovisual direction by Felipe Krust, the project brings together five interconnected tracks and films: ‘Hype the Funk’, ‘Soulless’, ‘Hunnid’, ‘Waves’ and ‘In Your Heart’. Its starting point is the meaning of epiphany itself, a sudden understanding of something that was already there, waiting to be perceived differently.

Across the five chapters, club music becomes part of a wider creative vocabulary. Emotion, memory, cinema and visual storytelling enter the process alongside production, giving each track another way to communicate. The songs move through different atmospheres without relying on a repeated musical formula, something that feels particularly consistent with the way HeyDoc! approaches his catalogue today.

‘Hype the Funk’ | EP. 01

‘Hype the Funk’ opens Epifania by establishing the relationship between music and image that shapes the project. Its official presentation introduces the central idea of translating inner sensations into an audiovisual experience.

‘Soulless’ | EP. 02

‘Soulless’ moves the project into a different atmosphere, broadening the emotional range established in the opening chapter. The shift reinforces how each track was allowed to occupy its own space inside the same visual universe.

‘Hunnid’ | EP. 03

‘Hunnid’ continues that expansion with another distinct side of HeyDoc!’s production. By this point, Epifania makes clear that its identity comes from the ideas connecting the episodes, rather than from repeating the same sonic or visual language.

‘Waves’ | EP. 04

‘Waves’ arrived around the feeling of something returning unexpectedly, almost as if it had never left. Introduced with the question, “Do you know when something comes back without warning, as if it had never left?”, the episode brings memory and recurrence into Epifania’s emotional vocabulary.

‘In Your Heart’ | EP. 05

‘In Your Heart’, influenced by the UK electronic scene and Gorgon City, connected melodic piano, an atmospheric drop and an idea of resilience. Its episode distilled that feeling into a particularly direct statement: “No turning back”.

Those details help place Epifania within a bigger picture. HeyDoc!’s recent catalogue has taken him through HEXAGON and Low Ceiling, while his next release is set to arrive on RAWthentic Music. His productions have moved across different areas of house music, and he has previously described the connection between those records as a personal “DNA”.

Epifania shows another part of that DNA. The music is one point of entry into a creative mind that absorbs films, images, memories and sensations, then finds ways of sending them back through sound.

Together, the five episodes leave a clear portrait of the ideas that shape HeyDoc!’s work beyond the dancefloor.
