DOVnROBS & Southcent Capture a Nostalgic Summer Moment With ‘Better’
‘Better’ Blends Nostalgia and Club Energy With A Timeless Summer Sound.
On Friday, September 4th, Deep Root Records is set to release the track ‘Better’ by London-based DJ and producer duo DOVnROBS and French DJ Southcent.
Drawing from classic house influences and modern club energy, ‘Better’ blends Afro House, Disco, and indie dance into a warm, uplifting, and subtly nostalgic sound. A memorable vocal hook sits at the center, giving the track an immediate yet timeless feel that works from sunset settings to peak-time dancefloors.
A 90s-inspired house piano provides the emotional foundation, complemented by a counter guitar riff, layered basses, punchy drums, and pronounced toms. The fat saw bass gradually opens during the breakdown, creating tension before the track returns with greater impact. The result is a polished, dynamic production designed to work seamlessly in DJ sets, from sunset sessions to peak-time club moments.
DOVnROBS are a DJ and producer duo made up of Samer Safadi (DOV) and Roberto Elias (ROBS), emerging as a rising name in the Afro House scene. Their sound combines DOV’s piano-driven musical foundation with ROBS’ rhythm-focused influences rooted in his upbringing in Nigeria, resulting in refined, emotional, and globally minded productions. The duo has performed across Europe and the MENA region and earned support from artists including Keinemusik, Francis Mercier, and Arodes.
Southcent is a Cannes-based DJ and producer with a sound that blends rhythmic Afro-inspired grooves with deep, melodic elements, creating productions suited for both clubs and festivals. Active as both an original artist and remixer, he has built a growing following through releases and remixes on platforms like SoundCloud. His work has received support from members of the Keinemusik collective, including his remix of ANOTR’s ‘Falling Feels Like Flying’ with MALHO, helping expand his presence within the electronic music scene.
