Avicii Community Releases Never-Before-Seen Footage from Avicii’s Final Ushuaïa Ibiza Show to Mark its 10-Year Anniversary

Ten years after Avicii played his final live DJ set, the full performance has been released for the first time.

Recorded at Ushuaïa Ibiza on August 28, 2016, the two-hour-plus set is now available exclusively through Avicii Community, the official digital platform dedicated to preserving and celebrating the Swedish artist’s legacy.

Filmed using a GoPro mounted on the DJ booth, the footage stays focused on Tim Bergling throughout the performance, offering an uninterrupted perspective of a night that would become the final show of his touring career. Unlike footage previously shared from the performance, the new release is presented without cuts or additional material.

The significance of the night is difficult to separate from what followed. Earlier in 2016, Bergling had announced that he would retire from touring, making the Ushuaïa performance the culmination of a career that had transformed the relationship between electronic music and the mainstream.

A newly released black-and-white video provides a particularly intimate look at that moment. In the footage, Bergling is seen writing the letter announcing his retirement to his fans ahead of the Ushuaïa show, drafting the message on his laptop and reading parts of it aloud.

“Last but not least thank you to every fan who's ever bought a ticket or snuck in or bought a song or downloaded it, commented or hated,” he says. “It's your thoughts and ideas about the music that helped me evolve and I do owe everything I have to you.”

Parts of the Ushuaïa set have surfaced over the years, including footage of ‘Levels’ and ‘Addicted To You’, while sections of the performance were also featured in the 2024 Netflix documentary Avicii: My Last Show. The new release is the first time the complete set has been officially made available.

The footage arrives at a time when Bergling’s catalogue and story continue to be revisited through the archives maintained by his estate. Last year, a new posthumous Avicii compilation brought more material from his catalogue back into focus, while his 2016 Ibiza version of ‘Forever Yours’ was officially released to fans, offering another glimpse into the music he was working on during the same period.
