Okanan Makes His Definitive Recordings Debut with “You Know” and a Frits Wentink Remix
The Havana-born producer delivers a dub-infused deep house original, while the Dutch artist supplies a shuffling, drum-focused rework.

Definitive Recordings welcomes Okanan for his first solo release on the label with “You Know”, accompanied by a remix from Frits Wentink.
Following his appearance on Get Physical Music as part of the Cuba Gets Physical project, the Havana-born artist steps forward with a deep house production shaped by atmosphere, groove and subtle musical detail. The original of “You Know” draws on a spacious, dub-infused aesthetic, balancing warm rhythms with evolving synthesizer layers, cinematic string passages and a distinctive male vocal sample.
For the remix, Frits Wentink retains the deep atmosphere of Okanan’s original while shifting the focus towards the drums. His version reworks the dubby elements into a shuffling, groove-led arrangement powered by a swinging TR-909-inspired rhythm.
Together, the two versions present “You Know” as a meeting point between Okanan’s deep, spacious sound and Wentink’s unmistakable rhythmic approach.
