Aero Manyelo Returns to Get Physical with “Gochi Gochi” feat. Pamuzinda & Shujaa Bora
The South African innovator brings together vocal traditions, Afro house rhythms and a years-in-the-making collaboration on his latest Get Physical release.
Get Physical Music welcomes back Aero Manyelo with “Gochi Gochi”, a powerful new collaboration featuring Pamuzinda and Shujaa Bora. Built around interlocking vocal themes, layered percussion and a driving Afro house groove, the record brings together artists from different musical backgrounds in a deeply immersive dancefloor production.
Manyelo has long established his own path within South Africa's electronic music landscape. Raised in Johannesburg after spending his early years in Limpopo, the producer's sound has evolved from a musical background shaped by his father's jazz collection into the distinctive Electro-Afro-Tech approach that has earned support from artists including Dixon, &ME and Black Coffee. Following previous appearances on Get Physical Music, including Body Language Vol. 19, “Gochi Gochi” marks another strong chapter in his relationship with the label.
The story behind the track reaches back several years. While touring in Munich, Manyelo was introduced to a Zimbabwean band performing in the same city, leading to a studio session shaped by curiosity and the meeting of different musical worlds. The recordings remained unfinished until he rediscovered them years later and recognised their potential. The title refers to gathering around a braai or barbecue, an occasion for sharing food, stories and good energy, and that spirit of connection remains central to the finished record.
“Gochi Gochi” opens through two complementary vocal themes. A hypnotic female chant establishes its identity before male vocal responses gradually enter, creating a call-and-response dynamic that builds tension with patience. As the groove arrives, those voices lock into driving Afro house rhythms, vivid synth work and layered percussion, balancing organic character with modern club focus.
With “Gochi Gochi”, Aero Manyelo, Pamuzinda and Shujaa Bora deliver a collaboration that feels rooted in shared musical experience while looking firmly toward today's global dancefloors. It is a record shaped by history, community and the energy of artists finding a common language through sound.
