Axel Boy showcases the full spectrum of his sound on new ‘Proximity’ EP
The Bristol producer returns to Crucast with a four-track 140 project featuring Dr. Ushuu and OHKAY.

For more than a decade, Axel Boy has been one of the most consistent names in UK Bass music. Moving between Dubstep, UK Garage, Drum & Bass and Bass House, the Bristol producer has built a global following without ever being tied to one corner of the scene. Now, for his first Crucast release since January 2025, he delivers Proximity, a four-track EP that puts that versatility front and centre.
The project opens with title track Proximity, before Axel Boy links up with French producer Dr. Ushuu for Promise Me. Vocalist, producer and DJ OHKAY joins him on Crawling, while Make You Feel closes the EP with Axel Boy back on solo duties. Rather than building the project around one collaboration or sound, the tracklist gives Axel Boy room to showcase the different sides of what he does across both solo productions and carefully chosen link-ups.
That approach is backed by a career that now stretches beyond 120 million streams, with support over the years from Skrillex, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, Jauz and Tiësto. Proximity has already made an impact on Beatport too, reaching #1 on the Dubstep Releases chart and #2 on the 140 / Deep Dubstep / Grime Releases chart, alongside selections for Best New 140 / Deep Dubstep and Weekend Picks.
With Proximity, Axel Boy isn't reinventing himself or making a comeback. It's another example of why he's remained such a consistent presence in bass music for over a decade, bringing together the range of sounds and collaborators that have defined his career into one focused four-track project.
