MPH and Skrillex Link Up for First Collaboration, "Mirage"

MPH and Skrillex shift into gear on “Mirage,” the limber collaboration the UKG tastemaker first teased at EDC Las Vegas in May. Now, the track lands via Disorder/Capitol Records with a frenetic, euphoric swagger that commands attention.

The producers sample Red Rat’s 1996 dancehall hit “Shelly Ann,” punching up the intensity with a party-coded blend of drums, bass, tilted vocal chops, and a buoyant synth line. Listen below.

“Mirage” came into focus in a single afternoon when MPH and the SOMA album maker ping-ponged ideas, building toward their first team-up. 

“Skrillex would do some bits and pass the laptop to me. I’d do some bits and, pretty soon, we’d married our sounds together,” MPH recalls.

Hear it on the road at MPH's upcoming appearance at CRSSD Festival or during his fall tour, comprising some of the biggest headlining shows of his career to date. The run kicks off in Copenhagen on September 19, with a North American leg spanning Portland, Denver, Toronto, and, finally, New York. Grab tickets to the tour here.
