Hospital Records officially announces its collaboration with Forza Horizon 6

Hospital Records officially announces its collaboration with Forza Horizon 6, a high-octane journey from start to finish set across Japan’s stunning landscape. Featuring as an in-game radio station in a Forza Horizon game for the fifth go-around, the esteemed imprint presents 24 box fresh tracks produced for Forza Horizon 6.

Not straying from tradition, the in-game Hospital Records radio station is hosted once again by label co-founder Chris Goss, alongside co-driver Dynamite MC making his debut, with featured artists including Metrik, Fred V, S.P.Y, Logistics and more, available exclusively in the Hospital Records: Forza Horizon 6 soundtrack. Across 24 tracks, the soundtrack draws from every length and breadth of drum & bass - boasting a number of household names accompanied by newer-school artists.

Mere months after the release of Logistics’ eighth studio album Earthling, he indulges the catalogue yet again with his anthemic solo offering ‘Hyperspace’ and a collaboration with his brother under their Nu:Logic moniker on ‘Chromium’ (previously teaming up on ‘The Sound Of Your Smile’ via Forza Horizon 4). Selected as the project’s first pre-release single, ‘Hyperspace’ arrived mere days after the game is unleashed into the world (21 May). A masterclass in tension and release, ‘Hyperspace’ is textbook Logistics in the best way - melodic synth hooks, intensifying build-ups and blissful drops coalesce in harmony.

Hoax, So What and Dynamite MC join forces for the first time ever on ‘Thread The Needle’ - the second single from the Forza Horizon 6: Hospital Soundtrack rollout, embodying a 90s-reminiscent D&B slammer that showcases the best and brightest from the trio. Dynamite MC is also featured as a radio co-host on the in-game Hospital Records radio station alongside Chris Goss, so he’ll be a familiar voice for Forza fans worldwide!

The soundtrack’s release focus is none other than P Money & Whiney’s ‘Photo Finish.’ Already tapping into racing themes with the track title itself, ‘Photo Finish’ is yet another flawlessly executed D&B and grime fusion, effortlessly flowing between styles and encompassing the cornerstone sounds of the UK.

Having already been announced on socials at the beginning of April, TANTRON’s ‘Turbo Fire’ with Nakamura Minami is also featured in Forza’s Initial Drive Sequence. It is hardly Minami’s first rodeo - previously collabing with salute on ‘go!,’ her tracks have been selected for several racing game soundtracks, including Need For Speed Underground. The rising Dutch drum & bass star appears for a second time on the soundtrack with the heavy-hitting ‘Trigger Sequence,’ where tension-building arpeggiators meet growling bass for a track exuding major final boss energy.

Further nodding to Horizon 6’s roots in Japan, drum & bass royalty Makoto and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Elle Shimada team up on ‘Astral Travelling.’ Layered with consistent pads, the track effortlessly bounces between sections - maintaining a layer of suspense and setting the mood for the soundtrack as a whole.

Across 24 tracks, the sheer concentration of blockbuster artists is enough of an adrenaline boost for both Forza fanatics and long-time Hospital fans - saturated with drum & bass excellence in the label’s 30th year no less.

First packaged within Forza Horizon 4 (2018) and premiered on BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac, S.P.Y’s ‘Rock Da House’ has been taken to the body shop and fitted for mods with a new remix from Alibi. Alibi presents a fresh-faced rework on ‘Rock Da House:’ the vocal sample taking much more of a front seat, and a callback to the imprint’s continued involvement with the Forza franchise.

Also on Forza Horizon 4, Metrik’s ‘Dawnbreaker’ was an undeniable fan favourite, amassing 11 million streams and still climbing. Fast forward to the sixth iteration of Forza - and Subsonic rounds off the project with a never-before-heard remix. Brighter and more polished, his re-engineering of ‘Dawnbreaker’ only expands on Metrik’s signature sound: the perfect accompaniment to in-game play.

As Hospital approaches its fifth partnership with Forza, their involvement with the game continues to stoke fan discovery - it is surprisingly commonplace for Forza users to unearth the existence of the label as its own entity, rather than just an in-game radio station.

Launched on 19 May, Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and playable day one with Xbox Game Pass. The full Hospital soundtrack will be available digitally on 24 July, followed up with a race-ready 3x12” gatefold vinyl & CDs.
