Orsay on New Music, New Territories and "Between Us" [Q&A]

Hi Orsay. It has been a busy few months for you. Where are you speaking to us from today?

Yes, the past few months have been pretty busy, with lots of touring and releases. I’m currently in Ibiza, taking a few days to work on new music and prepare for the rest of the summer.

Your remix of Poolside’s "Otherside" has just been released on Ninja Tune. How did that come about?

I connected with Poolside after going to one of their concerts in London a few months ago, where I met them and their management. I’ve been a big fan of their music for a long time, and the opportunity came along when they were looking for someone to remix their latest single, ‘Otherside.’

The overall sound and atmosphere they create really connect with what I aim for in my own productions, so the remix came together very organically. It was genuinely a joy to work on.

Which other artists would you love to remix?

Within the electronic scene, I would love the opportunity to remix RÜFÜS DU SOL when they release another album. They have always been part of my musical inspiration and journey.

Looking slightly further outside that world, working on a remix for The xx or The Blaze would be amazing. I’m always exploring connections beyond the electronic scene, just as we did with Poolside.

How do you usually approach a remix?

I always try to preserve the essence of the original track. During the creative process, I ask myself: “How can I add my own musical touch and personality to the music in front of me?”

Keeping that question in mind makes it easier to explore different sounds within the track while holding onto the general feeling of the original piece.

You collaborated with Kotiēr on "1886," released through BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA Music in April. How did that collaboration begin, and when did BLOND first hear the track?

Kotiēr and I met last summer in Ibiza. We were both playing shows and staying at a mutual friend’s place. We spent some time in the studio sharing the projects we were working on, and I played him a rough idea that he immediately connected with.

From there, we decided to develop it together and shape it into something with strong club energy. A few weeks later, after testing it in our sets and seeing how well it connected on the dance floor, we felt confident sending it out.

ABRACADABRA had been on my radar for a while, so sending it to BLOND:ISH felt like a natural choice. She loved the track.

Your new collaboration with LUCH, "Between Us," is out now on Gozar Records. What else do you have coming up?

I have a lot of projects in progress at the moment. Between now and the end of the summer, my next releases are "Let You Go," "Between Us" with LUCH and "Home."

They are coming through different labels, including X Recording, ABRACADABRA and Gozar Records.

Where can people see you perform over the next few months?

The summer is starting to fill up, so people can expect to see me everywhere from Europe to South America. We have shows coming up in Germany, Italy, Panama, Paris, Turkey, Spain and the south of France, with plenty more events still to come.

Which track have you been rinsing in your recent DJ sets?

From my own music, I would have to say ‘Let You Go.’ It has become a track that I love playing in all kinds of settings.

Another one I’ve been playing a lot is Joshwa’s ‘Out Of My Mind.’ It’s a powerful club and big-stage tool that works incredibly well. I always like blending more melodic sounds with deeper club sonics.

What are your main goals for the rest of 2026?

Musically, we want to release more and show the different sides and potential of the Orsay project. You can expect plenty of new songs over the next few months.

For shows, we’re currently working on a US visa, as that is a territory I’m extremely excited to debut in. I also spend a good amount of time in South America, where I connect very naturally with the crowds and their energy, so we want to build a stronger presence there.

Overall, we’re focused on expanding the project internationally and finding more opportunities to showcase all the music I’m currently working on.
