ORIGIN Los Angeles

A new independent venue dedicated to dance/electronic music will open this year in Downtown Los Angeles, bringing an underground ethos and “music-first” design to the city’s Arts District. ORIGIN Los Angeles is the latest venture from Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, the minds behind LA nightlife brands SBCLTR and Minimal Effort, as well as established dance events LABRYINTO, Brunch Electronik, The Maze, FLOAT, and Resolutions.

With ORIGIN's initial lineup forthcoming ahead of its late summer/early fall opening, details about the indoor/outdoor club’s programming are currently limited to its weekly format. While Fridays will host “live top-tier and indie electronic bookings,” Saturdays will welcome a series of daytime events, followed by house and techno in the evening. Beyond its standard programming, ORIGIN will also become the gathering place for quarterly Arts District parties, fostering community both on and off the dance floor.

ORIGIN has been outfitted with a custom analog KV2 Audio system developed to deliver uncompromising sound from the dance floor to the mezzanine. The site's futuristic design comes courtesy of Marc Dizon, a designer and architect who has been involved with a variety of major North American dance/electronic venues, including Sound Nightclub in Hollywood, New York’s now-defunct Brooklyn Mirage and Output, and Las Vegas’ Hakkasan Nightclub.
