Southpoint's Catalyst Sampler spotlights the new wave of UK club music

The compilation continues the label's long-standing commitment to new talent with five elite up-and-coming artists.

Sampler Catalyst 2 16x9

Brighton-based Southpoint has spent over a decade establishing itself as one of the UK's top labels in the underground dance scene, and during that time, it has consistently backed up-and-coming artists with a progressive approach to club music. Recent years have seen the label lean further into the crossover space between UKG, breaks and house, and the new Catalyst sampler feels like the clearest statement of that direction yet.

Bringing together five of the label's most exciting up-and-coming artists (three of which are Southpoint debutants), the sampler provides a real snapshot of where UK club music is heading. Instead of hyperfocusing on a particular genre or aesthetic, Catalysts in the increasingly blurred lines between rave, hard house and bass music.

JNG and TOM LECHEF kick things off with 'Do It Like That', a high-energy opener that screams ‘peak-time energy’. Elsewhere, BUTCHABOI's 'Rhythm Is Taking Control' stands out as one of the defining moments of the release, and perhaps even for the label in 2026 as a whole. The track fuses together organ-led speed garage with euphoric piano house influences to create a sound that is equally suited to festival fields as it is sweaty club basements.

Across the sampler, there's a shared appreciation for classic rave aesthetics, but none of these productions feel nostalgic for nostalgia's sake. Instead, each artist takes familiar influences and pushes them into modern territory with top-tier production and a focus on dancefloors in the summer of 2026.
