Soulfie Puts Brazilian Soul on the Global House Radar

Out now via Sons Solares Records, the new single captures a key moment for the Brazilian DJ and producer. After building her presence through DJ sets, international appearances, and growing industry recognition, Soulfie now takes the first step toward an original catalog that reflects the sound, energy, and instinct she brings to the booth.

he track began during New Year’s, while Soulfie was immersed in a period of focus on her artistic path. Its inspiration came from “Funk Brother Soul,” the 1978 record by Brazilian funk and soul figure Gerson King. That reference gives “Funk Brotherson” its starting point, but the result belongs firmly to the present: a house track with Brazilian soul, warm basslines, and a natural sense of movement.

Refined in collaboration with Toma and Tito of Trust in T, the single reaches a club-ready form without losing its original character. The influence of ’70s and ’80s groove culture runs through the track, with Earth, Wind & Fire and Hector Couto among the references behind its rhythm, swing, and dance floor direction.

I wanted to bring together my love for groove, Brazilian music, and the feeling of connection that happens on the dance floor. ‘Funk Brotherson’ has a Brazilian soul, but it was made for people everywhere to feel.

Soulfie’s name has already started to move beyond Brazil. In 2025, she was selected as Pete Tong DJ Academy’s Future Talent DJ of the Month, following a period that included appearances connected to ADE, Ibiza, and key Brazilian dance floors. Data Transmission also spotlighted her after her performance at the Toolroom Academy x Crossfader event during ADE, highlighting the soul, disco, house, and Brazilian swing in her sound.

Her current momentum comes from a specific artistic place: Brazilian roots, club instinct, and a natural command of groove. Soulfie carries those elements with a sense of rhythm and warmth that feels immediate in the booth and increasingly defined in the studio. “Funk Brotherson” brings that language into focus, setting the tone for an original catalog built from movement, memory, and a clear point of view.
