BIRRD shares new transcendant single “Ocean Sweep” for Cercle Records
BIRRD makes its debut on Cercle Records with "Ocean Sweep," a Melodic House track that draws on the power and vastness of the ocean to invite the listener to float, almost to take flight. Out now on Cercle Records.

"Ocean Sweep" is a cinematic Melodic House masterpiece by French producer BIRRD. Evoking the slowness and power of the ocean, this progressive, atmospheric track carries the listener into a state of lightness, almost weightlessness. Driven by a lead with hypnotic arpeggios, "Ocean Sweep" radiates a sense of freedom and joy, carried by immersive soundscapes and a resolutely electronic soul.
Ocean Sweep evokes the slow, powerful movement of the ocean advancing from the horizon. I wanted to set these sensations to music: floating, being carried, almost flying, following the movement of the waves, and letting a form of introspection, deep freedom, and joy emerge through it.

Stefan Vogel is a producer and multi-instrumentalist with triple French, Italian, and American nationality. His electronic, melodic, and cinematic music carries a singular evocative power, much like his name (Vogel means "bird" in German) and his favorite theme: travel. A self-taught artist who fell "head first into synths" at 21, he launched the BIRRD project in 2020. What followed—meeting Yotanka, the Trans Musicales festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, a North American tour, and a collaboration with the Louvre Museum, were all stages where he shaped the live show that lies at the heart of his project. A keen field-recording enthusiast, he records everywhere, the seaside, the forest—building a vast sound library that he draws from in the studio. Produced alone at home and mixed by Juxe, his debut album Takeoff follows the EP Alter Echo (2024): a darker, deeper techno, woven with collaborations with Fakear, Lysten, and Museau, and a club peak, "Black Box," that's reminiscent of Rone. From "First Step" to "Final Stretch," where the birdsong from the opening returns, the album comes full circle like a journey. Following in the footsteps of Weval and NTO, BIRRD creates universal music onto which everyone can project their dreams.
