A Long-Awaited Meeting of Minds: mölly & Mees Salomé Share First Collaboration "transmission"

California-based producer, DJ, vocalist, and yoga teacher mölly joins forces with Dutch melodic house innovator Mees Salomé on their deeply emotive new collaboration “transmission,” arriving Friday, June 26 on Colorize.

A meeting of two artists known for bringing emotional depth and intention to electronic music, “transmission” explores the invisible connections that shape our lives. Long before stepping into the studio together, Mees Salomé had become an early supporter of mölly’s music, championing her releases and encouraging her artistic growth. Their connection deepened through the international melodic house community, culminating in mölly joining the lineup for Mees’ Distant event in Amsterdam, where the pair shared a stage for the first time.

“It felt like a collaboration that happened very organically,” says mölly. “Mees has been incredibly supportive of my journey from the beginning. After spending time together at shows and getting to know each other as artists and people, creating something together felt like a natural next step.”

The inspiration behind “transmission” emerged during a visit to Joshua Tree, where mölly encountered Daniel Popper’s striking sculpture Transmission. Created as a reminder of our shared divinity and interconnectedness, the piece left a lasting imprint and became the emotional foundation for both the single and the wider album.

“The sculpture really stayed with me,” she explains. “It reminded me what the point of art is: to remind us of something we’ve always known but sometimes forget. ‘transmission’ is my way of carrying that same reminder forward.”

The collaboration arrives during a period of significant momentum for both artists. Since releasing her first music in 2024, mölly has amassed more than 20 million Spotify streams, earned support from Nora En Pure, Sultan + Shepard, Above & Beyond, and Tritonal, and received over 1,000 spins on SiriusXM Chill. Her rapidly growing catalog has resonated with listeners drawn to the emotional honesty and vulnerability at the heart of her work.

Meanwhile, Mees Salomé has established himself as one of melodic electronic music’s most respected emerging voices. The Dutch producer, DJ, and founder of the Distant platform has released on leading labels including Colorize, This Never Happened, Armada, and Filth On Acid, while performing at internationally renowned events and venues such as Tomorrowland, DGTL, Loveland, Pacha Ibiza, and ADE.
