Hype Label of the Month: Songuara

Songuara is Beatport’s Hype Label of the Month for June, and the numbers are already loud. Maxxim launched the Moscow-based label in 2022 after years of working around the industry and getting tired of waiting for bigger labels to say yes. So he built his own lane instead.

The sound moves through organic house, progressive house, and melodic club music, but Songuara doesn’t feel trapped by any of those tags. In its first year and a half, the label landed more than 90 records on the Beatport charts in their respective genres. Not little blips or guest appearances either. Plenty of them pushed high and stayed there.

The artwork is part of the story too. Every release comes with original visuals made with digital artist Selchauni, giving the label a look you can spot before the track even starts.

The roster is heavy: Hernan Cattaneo, D-Nox, Artic White, Tyler Mesa, PAAX (Tulum), Emi Galvan, Death On The Balcony, Madraas, and more. Add showcases in Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Pakistan, plus more on the way, and Songuara’s sonic world is being built in real time. One with its own sound, its own visual language, and a very clear sense of direction.

We caught up with Maxxim to learn more about the labels origins, its most pivotal releases, and some fun facts about the label as well.
