SEVEN Berlin label doc

The queer and FLINTA*-leaning label, store, and collective is built around something simpler and harder to fake: people. Rooted in Berlin’s house music scene, SEVEN connects sound with community, giving artists and dancers a place to meet without turning the whole thing into a branding exercise. Its line is “Smile When You Dance,” and for once, the slogan actually tells you something.

Founded by Berlin artist CRYME, SEVEN is a record label, yes, but calling it only that misses the work being done. Its orbit now stretches across a lively cast of emerging and established artists and friends, including 1morning, Andre Zimmer, Sparkly Pony, Baka G, YNNY, Tal Fussman, JakoJako, Rachel Noon, Eoin DJ, and more. That range matters. SEVEN releases music across the many sides of house, from warm and soulful to tougher, more techno-leaning club cuts, but the records are only one part of the picture. The label is also a platform for queer, FLINTA*, and underrepresented artists who deserve more than a polite nod from the edges of the scene.

Its Berlin record store on Torstrasse gives the project a physical pulse and place to thrive. It is a safe haven to dig, talk, listen, link up, and feel your way into the music. In a city where club culture can sometimes feel like a locked room, SEVEN keeps the vibes warm and welcoming.

That is what makes SEVEN feel special. It is a label, a store, and a meeting point for people who care about club culture as something lived, shared, and built together. We caught up with CRYME to talk about the wonderful world he has built around SEVEN, the community behind it, and why keeping joy at the center still matters. Watch the full video below.
