The evolution of melodic techno often requires looking back to move forward.
In his latest release titled Eveil, Leemansky does exactly that by reconnecting with the sounds that first sparked his passion for composition. This double single, featuring the tracks Eveil and Coeur de pirate, serves as a bridge between the classic era of the 2000s and contemporary electronic exploration.
The title track, Eveil, is designed to be both soaring and rhythmic. To avoid traditional clichés of the genre, Leemansky intentionally experimented with distortion during the creative process. On the other hand, Coeur de pirate offers a more poetic and cinematic atmosphere. It features wind and string instruments that evoke a film score quality. One of the most striking elements is a spontaneous vocal sample that adds a sense of action and stress against the ethereal brass sections.
Production was a deeply personal challenge for Leemansky, who handled every step from composition to mastering. He explains that the most difficult part was the technical balance. "For me, the hardest and least exciting part is mixing and mastering," he admits, noting the many back and forth adjustments required to reach his desired quality. Despite these hurdles, the final result is a polished work that captures a specific feeling of nostalgia. The Eveil double single stands as a celebratory milestone that captures a unique musical vision within the electronic scene.
