Short Circuit returns with the four-track Various Artists compilation, "Summer Cutz Vol. 4"
Jeff Sorkowitz’ New York-based imprint, Short Circuit, continues to showcase its stripped-back underground identity through a collection of groove-focused cuts built for late-night dancefloors and hypnotic club moments.
Opening the compilation, CatLadyHi delivers “Don’t Stop,” a slick and groove-led cut driven by swung percussion, dubby vocal fragments, and glitchy rhythmic textures that drift naturally through the mix. Smooth and hypnotic, the track balances stripped-back drum work with infectious late-night movement.
JUST2 follows with “Piano Distortion,” blending crisp percussion, dubby textures, and playful piano motifs into a deep rolling groove full of warmth and tension. Understated and fluid, it locks into a hypnotic flow built for deeper underground moments.
On “Makes Me Feel,” Max Mash and Antonello Camboni shift into a smoother and more emotive space through warm grooves, soulful vocal energy, and flowing percussion that creates a natural sense of movement and connection throughout the track.
