HALIENE Reminds Us Why She Owns the Melodic Bass Lane
After trance-tinged detours, “Right Love” brings the cathartic, hook-heavy sound her fans know best.

As “Eclipsed By You” — HALIENE’s collaboration with Ilan Bluestone — and her recent solo release “Solar Waves” explored the trance side of her roots, her new single “Right Love” marks a return to the melodic bass sound that first made her voice a staple of emotionally charged dance music.
Built around a massive melodic bass drop and an instantly memorable chorus, “Right Love” leans fully into the emotional, cathartic energy that defined HALIENE’s fan-favorite collaborations like “Rush Over Me”, and “In My Mind” with artists like Illenium, Seven Lions and Excision. Equal parts heartbreaking and euphoric, the track blends cinematic songwriting with a pop-forward edge, delivering the kind of emotional release that has become synonymous with HALIENE’s biggest records.
With Right Love, I wanted to capture the ache of finding the right person in the wrong chapter of your life. When Annika Wells and I sat down in the studio to write this one, we were talking about the idea of relationships and how timing is everything. Sometimes a love was right, but it wasn’t for right now. I find that just like a beautiful sunset, some beautiful things were never meant to stay, only to change you in a moment. So this one is for anyone who ever held that in their hands, only to have to walk away.

While her recent releases have explored more trance-inspired and ethereal territory, “Right Love” is a reminder that HALIENE’s melodic bass side is still very much alive. Emotional, hook-heavy, and unapologetically vulnerable, the single showcases both the depth of her songwriting and the versatility that has made her one of electronic music’s most recognizable voices.
