Heels of Love returns with its seventh release, uniting label head Eli Iwasa with label manager Mau Maioli, one of Brazil’s most prominent new generation artists. This collaboration bridges their distinct backgrounds to push the label’s evolving sound and creative direction into fresh territory.
The RARA EP is a two-track journey unfolding between memory and projection, featuring the title track "RARA" and the forward-looking track "The Past."
A tribute to the carnival sunrise, “RARA” reflects a moment held in memory. The track translates this experience into sound, balancing nostalgia and celebration, guided by a melodic cadence that stands as the central element of the arrangement. It is where Maioli and Iwasa’s signatures meet most clearly, resulting in an atmosphere that fits seamlessly into closing set moments.
“The Past” is rooted in the idea of honoring the past while looking toward the future, with its message carried through Iwasa’s vocals. The track incorporates organic elements with the saxophone in the spotlight, while the bassline drives the energy forward and leads the track into intense dancefloor moments.
This release builds on the successful creative synergy previously seen in their collaborations on Core Records and Heels of Love. Through this intentional pairing, the label continues to define a cutting-edge sonic identity where house music traditions meet modern innovation. Ultimately, the meeting of Iwasa and Maioli captures a unique moment where memory becomes rhythm and the past and future coexist on the dancefloor.
