Hype Label of the Month: Ulu Records (May 2026)
Robin M and Methe Buhl’s London imprint pushes underground house with global roots, deep grooves, and a growing community built beyond the release schedule.

Ulu Records lands as Beatport’s Hype Label of the Month for May with global grooves, underground instincts, and serious momentum behind it. Founded in London by Robin Michelangelo (aka Robin M), alongside manager Methe Buhl, the boutique imprint was built as a space to release music without rules – championing underground house shaped by melodic, deep, and Afro influences from across the world.
That open-minded vision has paid off quickly. Since its first release in 2021, Ulu has stacked platinum-certified releases, topped Beatport charts, and earned support from heavyweights like Black Coffee, Diplo, Keinemusik, Bedouin, and Pete Tong. The label’s circle runs deep too, with Enoo Napa, VERTIC, Khenya, Hyenah, Emanuele Esposito, David Mayer, and more all having released on the label.
Beyond the records, Ulu has grown into a worldwide community through its event series, touching down everywhere from London and Amsterdam to Nairobi and Copenhagen.
Named after the Hawaiian word for growth and expansion, Ulu Records feels less like a label and more like a movement still unfolding. Learn more about the label below.
