Kasra & Samurai Breaks deliver raw breakbeat pressure on ‘Cobalt’
With MC Rage adding a scene-rooted touch, the release balances heritage with contemporary production.

Critical Music boss Kasra joins forces with the breakbeat-centric energy of Samurai Breaks for the ‘Cobalt’ EP - a heavy-duty link-up that respects the roots, while reflecting the present.
The deeply percussive, deliciously dark ‘EZ’ rolls through first, instantly hitting full throttle with endlessly scattering drums and speaker-punishing bass.
Title track ‘Cobalt’ shifts towards a deeper, heads-down groove, twisting and turning with a subtler touch that nods neatly to the 1990s.
‘Straight From The T.O.P.’ leans harder still into those retro influences, with bars from scene original MC Rage adding a vintage touch to the most modern of jungle tracks.
