How to Move Your Beatsource Playlists to Beatport

The good news? Moving your playlists and library is fast, seamless, and designed to preserve your workflow. In most cases, the migration takes just seconds, and your playlists appear on Beatport almost instantly.

Here’s exactly how it works.

Before You Start: Quick Prep Checklist

Before initiating your migration, take a few minutes to make sure everything is ready:

• Download any purchased tracks to keep a local backup
• Move tracks from your Cart or Hold Bin into playlists (these won’t transfer otherwise)
• Save Offline Library tracks into a playlist for migration
• Finalize and organize your playlists
• Check compatibility with your DJ software (for metadata like cue points and loops)

This prep ensures your library transfers cleanly and completely.

Step-by-Step: How to Migrate Your Playlists

1. Log in to Beatsource

Visit Beatsource.com – if your account is eligible, you’ll see a migration prompt or banner.

• Migration is being rolled out in phases – if you don’t see it yet, it’s coming soon.
   

2. Start the Migration Process

Click the migration prompt and follow the on-screen steps. You’ll be guided through a short confirmation flow explaining what will transfer.
 

3. Confirm Your Transfer

You’ll be asked to confirm that you are ready to move your:

• Playlists
• Library
• Subscription (if applicable)

Once confirmed, the system begins transferring your data.
 

4. Wait a Few Seconds

Most migrations are fast, taking an average of 10-15 seconds to complete, depending on the size of your library.
 

5. Open Beatport

Once complete, you’ll be redirected to Beatport, where you’ll find:

• All your playlists
• Your transferred tracks
• Your updated subscription plan (if applicable)
   

You’re now ready to DJ from Beatport.

After migrating from Beatsource to Beatport, you can use your new Beatport Streaming account in your preferred DJ application even before metadata-transfer support is released. Once that support becomes available, you may choose to transfer your original Beatsource database, but doing so will overwrite any changes you’ve made since the migration.

What Happens to Your Playlists?

All of your Beatsource playlists will transfer automatically to Beatport, maintaining their original structure, order, and overall feel. If a track isn’t currently available on Beatport, it will still appear in your playlist but may be greyed out – and in many cases, you can find alternate versions while the catalog continues to expand.

What Happens to Your Music & Purchases?

Your purchase history will be preserved in a dedicated Beatport playlist called “Beatsource Purchased Tracks,” making it easy to locate everything in one place. Just be sure to download any previously purchased tracks beforehand if you want local copies, as items in your Beatsource Cart or Hold Bin won’t carry over.

What About Cue Points, Loops, and DJ Metadata?

Cue points, loops, beat grids, and other DJ metadata can be transferred through supported DJ software like Serato, rekordbox, and VirtualDJ, helping maintain your workflow. For the smoothest experience, it’s best to wait until your preferred software officially supports metadata transfer before migrating.
