Spacelike: A New Project in the Aether and Spy Satellite EP Launch
Spacelike, the new alias from Will Rajan, is launched as a creative collaboration bridging Valencia and London, featuring production from Will and visual art from Daniel Naylor. Together, they fuse cinematic audio with imagery to elevate each other in the aether and let minds run wild. The new debut five-track EP, Spy Satellite, weaves classical and orchestral influences into a deep electronic journey of evolving climaxes. Celebrate the release on Friday 10th April at The Castle, Aldgate, London, where Spacelike will perform a three-hour, three-turntable vinyl set alongside creative partner Avian and guest Dirt Angel.

A new project from Spacelike arrives as a five-track EP ‘Spy Satellite’ weaving through diverse styles and wavelengths. It is electronic at its core, with classical and orchestral influences immersed within. The duo behind this particular EP Spacelike are Will and Dan, two friends based in Valencia and London. Their work is an artistic expression in different forms: the audio arrangement and the visual partner. Both exist to elevate each other in the aether. The music feels like a perfect soundtrack to the artwork. If you let your imagination run wild, you will naturally envision a spacelike journey following curious sonic trajectories into powerful, evolving climaxes.
Every track carries a distinct energy, reflecting the years of refinement Will has poured into the Spacelike alias and project to reach this particular output.
Points in Space
A sprawling, winding arrangement of gliding orchestral parts and jagged synthetic sounds. Natural and metallic elements combine over five minutes to create a piece that feels like a film score in fast-forward. It is percussive in nature despite having no drums and is written to be listened to loud.
Melting Glass
The first of three seven-minute works on the EP and the most measured, although it is still written for a club sound system. Led by steady interplay between drums and a repeated melodic motif, the piece is held together by deep sub-bass and glistening harmonic layers.
Inertia
The EP tilts beyond the melodic pulsing of Melting Glass into more unmasked aggression. Its hypnotic and relentless intensity at 160bpm rarely dials back, yet it never veers into pure distortion.
It Was Never There
An interlude that eschews drums once again. Percussive instrumentation forges a sense of rhythm in a complex manner as layers weave in and out of phase with each other before the culmination introduces the title track.
Spy Satellite
The closing title track, quite rightly matching the name of the EP. It is a subtle groove built around a simple musical idea. Initially sparse, the feeling of isolation it expresses is acute. As the track develops and becomes denser, this loneliness is gradually overpowered, while the faint irregularity of the drums and the understated ferocity of the bass remain constant until the EP fades to silence.
The production and arrangement of the whole thing feel completely unique. We’ve referenced the idea of a film score, reflecting the project's storytelling and soul. Will’s years of producing have been built on a foundation of DnB and Jungle, but the work is never pigeonholed. It stems from ideas and following the strongest magnetic pull at the time. This is music writing that is creative and expressive. It is a style that will constantly evolve, bringing a touch of class and composure to experimental music. It is soft yet striking in the same breath. We can look forward to future releases and the continued narrative of the duo’s synergy.
