Denis Horvat and Sahar share new melancholic single “Mayflies” for Cercle Records
Denis Horvat and Sahar make their debut on Cercle Records with “Mayflies”, a melodic house single questioning whether we truly embraced the freedom and fleeting time of our youth. Blending Denis Horvat’s ’90s and early 2000s-inspired sounds with Sahar’s subtle yet powerful lyricism, the track conveys a quiet urgency to cherish those transient moments before they slip away. Out now on Cercle Records.

Reflecting on the ephemeral nature of youth and our urge to make every moment count, “Mayflies” captures one of the most universal experiences of being young. It evokes the bittersweet sensation of fully embracing the present while already sensing it slip into memory; living intensely in the moment, yet quietly longing for something more. Beyond its club-driven intensity, the track plays on the symbolism of the mayfly, an insect known for its brief lifespan, echoing the idea that time itself flies.
Mayflies is a contemplative new single exploring the fleeting nature of youth and the urgency of making meaningful use of time. It invites listeners to sit with that fleeting sense of time, pairing intimate lyricism with nostalgic, atmospheric production.
- Denis Horvat
The title holds a deliberate double meaning - referencing both the short-lived mayfly and the idea that “May flies,” a quiet reminder of how springtime, and by extension youth, seems to pass in an instant.
