Los Angeles’ underground dance music community gets a proper victory lap this week with the arrival of Point Winona Sound Library Vol. 1, a new compilation from DISCOS XXX (DX3) and Elbow Grease. Bringing together 20 artists who’ve spent years shaping the city’s after-hours energy, the project was recorded under one roof at the hilltop Point Winona studio in Los Feliz, overlooking the sprawling City of Angels.

Curated by studio stewards Tavish DJ and Dave Aju, the compilation plays like a treasure chest of late-night weapons. These are producers who know exactly how an LA dance floor should feel at 3:17 A.M., and the results are stacked with personality.

Standouts include Warehouse Preservation Society’s “Data Bliss,” a locked-in groove pusher that pairs mechanical precision with imaginative melodies, dub-soaked vocal chops, and dust-choked piano chords at the breakdown. Stacy Christine’s “Smart Move” arrives with serious attitude, a frenzied chugger packed with sly vocal jabs and dance floor swagger. Meanwhile Maddy Maia & Tottie – the duo behind the SOS Music – deliver the “Obsesión Romántica (Free Winona Dub)" with its swirl of acidic Italo haze and serpentine club pull.

Already drawing love from tastemakers like CC:DISCO!, Sasha, Roy Davis Jr., Axel Boman, Alinka, Erol Alkan, and beyond, this 12-track V/A feels plays like a love letter to LA’s underground. And frankly, it’s a goldmine of jams.

Point Winona Sound Library Vol. 1 is out now via Elbow Grease.
