The legendary Fedde Le Grand is back with a new club weapon, “1, 2 Step,” available now on Beatport. The release sees the veteran producer reconnect with the fully-electrified house sound that first made his name, flipping Ciara and Missy Elliott’s iconic 2004 hit into a modern dance floor driver.

Armed with a pounding kick, growling low-end, and an infectious high-pitched synth line, Fedde’s rework keeps the original’s instantly recognizable vocal hook while injecting it with fresh club-ready momentum. Reimagining a record so deeply embedded in pop and dance music history is no small task, but in the hands of a seasoned producer like Le Grand, the result lands squarely where it belongs: on packed dance floors.

It was a pure delight working on this track,” says Fedde Le Grand. “I used all the ingredients to make it a proper dance track. I very much enjoyed working on this piece and hope my fans feel the same.

The release follows a steady run of fresh tunes in 2025, including “Keep It Moving” with Joyse, alongside house heaters like “Grinnin’” with Roger Sanchez, “Here Comes The Bass” with DJ Tora, and his proper Toolroom banger “Liquid Music.”

Across nearly two decades, Le Grand has remained one of house music’s most enduring figures, delivering era-defining cuts like “Let Me Think About It,” “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit,” and “Back & Forth,” while also putting his spin on global stars like Madonna, Coldplay, and Rihanna. Safe to say, the Dutch legend knows exactly how to keep dance floors moving.
