Austrian producer En:vy steps back from his usual drum & bass territory for a high-voltage VIP of his 140bpm monster ‘Alert’ for Critical Music.
‘Alert VIP’ twists the mangled funk of the original even harder around neat drum edits and a scattering of smart samples, with an endlessly oscillating bassline that harks back to the golden era of the original south London dubstep sound.
