Skantia returns to Dance Macabre with a no-nonsense double A-side that lands exactly where it needs to. Teaming up with label boss Simula on “Harbinger,” the pair tap into pure dark-room pressure, delivering a heavyweight collaboration that’s already been making serious rounds in DJ sets.

On the flip, “Gatwick Growler” finds Skantia flying solo, dialing things up with a snarling, high-impact weapon built for late-night systems and tightly packed floors. Direct, aggressive, and unapologetically club-focused, the track showcases his instinct for dance floor functionality at full throttle.

Arriving alongside upcoming UK tour dates with Simula, the release further reinforces Dance Macabre’s stripped-back, hard-edged identity while cementing Skantia’s reputation as one of drum & bass’ most dependable operators.

Beatportal quickly caught up with Skantia to get some insight into how both tracks came together.

Speaking on “Harbinger,” he explains:

Will and I started this track in a studio in North London. It was fun just making basses and geeking out for hours, seeing how each other worked. Once we had all the sounds, it was just about arranging it properly. I’m super happy with how it turned out. I think it’s a good blend of styles.

On “Gatwick Growler,” Skantia adds:

Gatwick Growler was a tune I made in Gatwick Airport whilst waiting for a flight to Vienna. I wanted something easy to double with another tune and this was it, hence the name. I was going to change it later since it started as a placeholder, but somehow people already knew it, so it stuck.

Two tracks, zero filler, just pure dance floor intent from one of the scene’s most locked-in operators.
