Beatport Landed Goes Inside São Paulo’s Ever-Evolving Electronic Movement
Hosted by Eli Iwasa, the latest Beatport Landed episode spotlights the DJs, collectives, and cultural spaces shaping São Paulo’s fluid and future-facing underground.

Beatport Landed returns with a proper zoom in on São Paulo, taking a deeper look at the city’s breathtakingly fluid and wide-ranging electronic music scene. Following the global funk roots and evolving story explored in our Funk do Brasil with Mochakk documentary series with ONErpm, this episode of Beatport Landed expands the narrative into São Paulo’s broader underground culture – where communities, clubs, and creative expression collide.
Hosted by Eli Iwasa, Beatport Landed: São Paulo sits down with scene stalwarts and boundary-pushers, including APROPRI4DAMENTE, KENYA20HZ, Paulete Lindacelva, Tessuto, Kenen e Kel, and Suelen Mesmo to unpack what makes this city’s electronic heartbeat so unique. As Iwasa reflects, “São Paulo showed me that you can have access to all kinds of culture and with an open mind, you’ll be able to listen to everything.”
From historic cultural hubs like Galeria Olido – where DJs were honored in one of the city’s first dedicated exhibitions – to cutting-edge spaces like Galpão Quina and clubland staples such as Carmen, São Paulo’s nightlife is both rooted and restless. Collectives have played a pivotal role, reviving long-neglected venues and championing artists across spectrums – from emerging local talent to trans and female acts – all against the blueprint of FUNK’s foundational influence.
The scene here is wonderfully unpredictable, a place where every dance floor becomes a crossroads of sound, identity, and future possibility. And as tempos intensify and audiences seek higher energy experiences, one thing is clear: the future of São Paulo’s electronic movement is big, and it’s just getting started.
