Tinlicker share emotionally powerful new single “Melancholia” for Cercle Records
Tinlicker make their comeback on Cercle Records with “Melancholia”, a Melodic House single that conveys the fragility of life and reflects on how we express love through those around us. Blending atmospheric layers with a driving energy, the track gives an impression of a vast landscape. Out now on Cercle Records.

Looking back at the past while questioning an uncertain future, “Melancholia” captures one of life’s defining turning points. The track feels like a life review, a pivotal moment. It recalls the music at the end of an intense movie - the kind that plays over the credits, summing up the journey and inviting reflection on life, on what comes next, and on oneself.
Melancholia captures the vulnerability of human life and the rare feeling of a bond that feels unbreakable, a tiny sense of holding on to someone. It is the 5th single of our new album “Dreams Of The Machine” which questions the future of humanity. We ask ourselves: are machines able to dream? And are we, as humans, heading in a direction where we can find more inner peace within ourselves?
- Tinlicker
Over more than a decade, Tinlicker have consistently pushed boundaries in the world of electronic music, cultivating a sound that is both unique and personal. The use of real instruments, ranging from strings to keys to horns, has long been a staple of the ensemble that helps to separate their sound from more traditional dance acts. Beyond the instrumentation, their music also has an unusual and powerful propensity to evoke an array of feelings, from euphoria to sadness, and everything in between. It’s music one can dance to, no doubt, but it’s also music that tells a compelling story.
After their 2021 breakthrough with single “Because You Move Me” (over 1 billion streams now), Tinlicker implemented some radical changes - they left their long-time label, Anjunadeep for [PIAS] and transitioned from performing purely DJ sets to a format including live/band performances. Risky but well-calculated choices, necessary for the next steps to realize the creative direction of the album they were working on, “Cold Enough For Snow” (2024). The resulting LP was a master class in balancing innovation with quality. Reroute to remain.
In Autumn 2025 Hero Baldwin formally joined the group as both live and studio member after earlier performances including their biggest ever live show, the spectacular Tinlicker In The Park (Crystal Palace Bowl) in summer 2025 and Melkweg Amsterdam.
Tinlicker is here to push boundaries for the sake of art and chase what they’re passionate about, rather than choosing to blend in. “We don’t like living safe,” one of the members once said. When it comes to making music, “there’s only one rule: we have to like it.”
