A decade after "Topper Top," the UK bass mainstay reconnects with the iconic dubstep imprint for a four-track system workout built for dark rooms and heavy rigs.

UK bass mainstay Sir Spyro is back in the chamber with 2nd SQ, his new EP out now via DEEP MEDi. Touching down ten years after his iconic "Topper Top" link-up with the label, the return lands right as the dubstep institution marks two decades of soundsystem pressure, making this reunion feel properly charged.
Across four cuts, 2nd SQ moves with purpose and low-end intent. The title track fires first with snapping hats, crushing bass weight and a steel-plated snare built to bite through dark rooms. “Be Afraid” pulls things into skeletal territory, stretching the tension while “Diagonal” locks into shadowy loops that tug listeners deeper inside the devious system. Closer “Patch Bae” flips the palette with glitch-splashed textures and neon-bit nostalgia that cuts through the gloom. Listen below.
Speaking on the release, Sir Spyro shares:
I’m very excited to work with DEEP MEDi again. I was buzzing to be releasing Topper Top with them on their 10th anniversary and it’s even better to be back for their 20th.
From pirate radio transmitters to chart-shaping production credits, his impact on UK club culture runs deep. 2nd SQ lands as a reminder that both Sir Spyro and DEEP MEDi's connection to grime and dubstep’s core frequencies isn’t archival, it’s active, restless, and still wired directly into the system.
