Music has a long memory for legends, and few loom larger than Carl Cox and James Brown. They come from different worlds, but their stories rhyme. Brown was The Hardest Working Man In Show Business, The Godfather of Soul, Mr. Dynamite. Cox, in the club universe, earned his own crown as The Three-Deck Wizard, the King of Ibiza, The People’s Choice. Both built their reputations on endurance, discipline, and an almost mythic command of the crowd.
Those legacies now intersect with Cox’s rework of "Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud," reconnecting the fire of Brown’s 1968 declaration with the propulsion of modern dance floors. Originally released at the height of the civil rights movement, the track was a demand as much as a groove. Cox’s remix doesn’t soften that message.
