Fresh Spaces & Timeless Stages: Events Kickstarting 2026 (London)
A look at the new venues, revived rooms, and noteworthy events shaping London’s electronic music landscape as 2026 gets underway.
Dan Peplow

It’s only January, but stellar events are popping up left, right, and centre. Promoters are finding their feet, settling into the year, and bringing fresh bookings to life. Because of this, we’re seeing a wave of new concepts, the revival of previously closed spaces, and the rise of new venues that are quickly becoming favourites across the Capital’s many scenes.
It is an ever-changing landscape. While we’ll be saying goodbye for now to a few beloved iconic spots, the way things are going, we hope to see even more spaces, promoters and festivals make a mark for themselves throughout 2026.

Club Cheek, Brixton
In 2025, Club Cheek arrived on the scene to fill a space on Barrington Road in Brixton. Formerly known as Loki, Medusa, and Simulacra Studio, open on and off since the 1980s, the team did something many others might have avoided. They gutted the place, improved the structural bones, installed conscious lighting, and gave their ‘Cheeky’ sound system a permanent home while paying attention to every detail (including the toilets!).
On Friday 6th February, they are hosting their own event alongside a series of amazing promoter-led shows. They have invited Stanislav Tolkachev, often dubbed the Ukrainian techno maestro, to play a rare London live set. He is joined by Marcus L from South Korea for an innovative tape set with a nod toward 90s acid techno. Finally, Sri Lankan-born and London-based Vindya, and one of Twisted Festival’s residents rounds out the bill with some dark, driven, and soulful techno.

The following month on Friday 20th March, Dash The Henge and their electronic series, HENGE Live presents Pagan Sex Magick, are back at Cheek after hosting a brilliant event there in December. Since the venue is just a short journey from their home base in Camberwell, it feels like a spot where we could be seeing a lot of them throughout the year.
This time around they are inviting Les Animaux Sauvages for a live performance. They are three louche artistic soulmates who came together in 2014 as a singular electro, minimal wave, and post-punk entity. Joining them on the night are DJ sets from Berlin-based artist Madd Rod, London-resident C.A.R., and the resident duo 33rd December. Those are two fantastic events for the first quarter at a space already making a name for itself as one of the best-run spots in London. It is intimate, high-quality, and grassroots to the core.

KOKO Electronic, Camden
It goes without saying that this is one of the most iconic spots in London. Rooted in the heart of Camden with a history dating back to its days as a 1900s Victorian theatre, it is now a home for music lovers and hedonism alike. With a vast range of live gigs and electronic programming, the venue is taking a real step forward with its visual identity and curation in 2025, and I am sure there are even bigger plans for 2026. It is one of the city’s most recognised spaces and it is constantly evolving. If you have not been since the refurb a couple of years ago, now is the perfect time to visit.
This weekend features two shows that perfectly portray how KOKO is positioning itself within the London and global scene…
First up on Friday January 30th is Traumer. He is a French DJ and producer celebrated for a hypnotic, groove-driven blend of minimal, house and techno. He launched his well-known label Get-traum back in 2016, and it has since grown to include fifteen core releases and several offshoots featuring artists like Nu Zau, Priku, and DJ Deep. He is constantly working to ensure like-minded DJs have top-tier records in their bags. Joining him is Dutch artist Marsolo, who is known for his stand-out releases on Eastenderz such as Eye Of The Beholder. Rounding out the bill is KT, a London-based but world-renowned digger on warm-up duties. She has made a name for herself at Ecuador’s Trotamundo, Albania’s ION, and UK festivals like Madruga and Above Below.
Fresh off his headline residency at Pacha Ibiza’s Flower Power, Bora Uzer returns to KOKO on Saturday January 31st. His renowned live show fuses vocals, guitar, and a DJ performance into one connected experience. Known for bringing a rich, improvisational energy to stages like Red Rocks, Ushuaïa, and Tomorrowland Brazil, he now brings that spirit back to Camden for a night that blurs the line between a concert and a club night. This show epitomises exactly what KOKO is doing and the difference they are trying to make in London by offering variety and something fresh that intertwines live performance with electronic sets.

Number 90 Hideout, Hackney Wick
Another venue well worth highlighting is Number 90 Hideout in canal-side Hackney Wick. The space underwent a major audio-focused transformation in early 2025. That commitment to quality is clear thanks to their brand-new d&b audiotechnik system, which is a massive win for all the sound nerds out there because it sounds really really good. Visuals now dance across every wall thanks to new 360-degree projection mapping, complemented by a stylish herringbone floor engineered with a rubber foundation to perfect the room's acoustics. All these little, yet big, details make it a desirable home for collectives such as Half Baked, Art of Dark and a fitting home for their in-house series Brama, hosting the likes of XDB and dj sweet6teen.
The Hideout is just one part of the Number 90 family that received a refresh. The project also brought Number 90 Lock to life while tightening up the main bar and introducing their dedicated boat space. As a collective of four distinct spaces, the venue continues its rise as one of the best spots to discover new music or host an event thanks to the impressive diversity and range they offer in East London on the water.
On Saturday 21st February, The Prog Lab and Gemini Sounds are teaming up in London for the very first time at Number 90 Hideout. This partnership marks the launch of an exciting new event series that focuses entirely on the best in progressive, melodic, and organic house. Headlining for three hours is Tim Green, a versatile artist with a career spanning over two decades. His journey is highlighted by an evolution from winning Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2010 DJ Mag Awards to becoming a leading figure in the organic house scene. As a staple on Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream label, he draws on his instrumental background and consistently shows why he is one of the best producers and DJs in the game.
The night also features two back-to-back sets from Jawjee and Marco along with Number 90 regular Innerstice and Altayef. It sounds like the perfect opportunity to treat your ears to the sound of this fresh system in action?

A Moment for the Spaces That Shaped Us
Corsica Studios, Elephant & Castle
While it’s great to see these spaces on the rise and receiving the TLC needed to keep London a global leader for electronic music, it is just as important to give a shoutout to the venues we’ve lost. Too many have been forced to close their doors, often seeing licenses revoked to make way for new building developments.
I want to give a special nod here to Corsica Studios, one of the absolute best this city has ever seen. Hosting its final series of events as we speak. Check them out. It has been a formative place for so many of us, and its influence will no doubt continue to shape new spaces for years to come. We hope to see them return in some capacity but, for now, kudos and thank you.
Presenting a warm little reminder to support the live industry: get out to events, buy your tickets early, and when there’s a petition to save a space, sign it! We need to keep this industry thriving. Go out and enjoy yourself, whatever your taste and wherever the music takes you. Here’s to a massive 2026 and an abundance of music!
