The track explores the notion of resonance—how memories, emotions, and fleeting moments linger long after they pass. “I wanted each note to reflect that soft melancholy you feel when the light changes,” he explains, describing the season as a key catalyst for the song’s atmosphere.

Built in Ableton Live with synths such as Serum, Diva, and Pigments, “Echoes” blends rolling bass, delicate percussions, and warm melodic textures. The vocal line adds a layer of intimacy, guiding the listener through a journey of remembrance and emotional depth. “There’s a moment where the voice fades and the melody takes over,” Aaron Decay says. “For me, that’s where the emotion reaches its peak.”

The track draws inspiration from leading figures in the genre—Yotto’s immersive storytelling, Sultan + Shepard’s hypnotic grooves, and Colyn’s seamless progressions. These influences merge into a sound that feels both powerful and inward-looking, capturing the contemplative essence of autumn.

For Aaron Decay, the biggest challenge was balancing clarity and emotional weight. “I had to experiment a lot to keep the percussion clean while letting the melodies breathe,” he recalls. The result is a track that feels spacious, organic, and resonant.

Ultimately, “Echoes” invites listeners to slow down, reflect, and let themselves drift. “I hope it takes you somewhere,” Aaron Decay shares. “Somewhere quiet, somewhere honest.”
