Detroit legend DJ Bone is closing out 2025 with The Soapbox – a raw, truth-first Detroit techno EP that is out now via his FURTHER imprint.
Across six tracks, the EP moves from the vocal-laced rhythm of “Shook Ones” to the urgent tension of “Mind’s Eye,” landing in galactic, organ-warped territory on “Passed the Past” before closing with the techno speed-racer "Blessed" and the deep, slow-burning machine funk of “Under Surveillance.” Listen below.
“This isn’t about hype or nostalgia, it’s about truth,” Bone says. “The Soapbox is for those who still feel the music, who build, who give, and who never stop going further.”
The release arrives fresh on the heels of FURTHER’s massive six-project run in June, which spanned Bone’s latest album The End of Never, a 30-year celebration of Subject Detroit, new Doc Ciroc cuts and another powerful run of his Homeless Homies event at ADE, which helped the charity raise funds for The Amado V. Hernandez Elementry School in The Philippines (see here).
With The Soapbox, Bone sharpens the ethos that drives FURTHER: music with depth, clarity, and Detroit DNA.
