Maya Jane Coles is officially back – and she’s coming in with a whole new world. The producer, DJ, and visual artist just launched Night Creatures, a fresh label and creative space built around the after-hours zone where her music really thrives. The first drop, Night Jams Vol. 1, is a four-track EP that digs straight into the vibe Maya does best: deep, percussive club workouts wrapped in ghosty vocals, heavy bass pressure, and that unmistakable late-night haze. Listen below.
The EP runs the full spectrum of her sound – from rumbling bass and driving drums that tighten the air around the dance floor to feathered, introspective moments that hit you with a soft, sonic glow. It’s the same energy that’s powered her universe from her pivotal 2013 album Comfort and 2017's brilliant Take Flight all the way through to the label's namesake – her 2021 Night Creature EP. It's all there, just sharpened and more personal than ever.
“I’ve always been a night creature,” she says. “There’s peace in the quiet hours – and fire on the dance floor. That tension is where the magic happens.”
And if you missed it, Maya tore up Beatport Live LA this past summer – watch the full set below.
