Oliver Heldens Reimagines Modjo’s Iconic “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” for a New Generation
Available November 21st on Heldeep Records

Oliver Heldens revisits one of dance music’s most enduring classics with his rework of “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”, out November 21 on Heldeep Records.
Originally released in 2000 by the French house duo Modjo, “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” became a defining track of its era, blending house, funk, and pop in a way that transcended genres and generations. Now, more than two decades later, Heldens breathes new life into the classic, staying true to its unmistakable groove while elevating it with his signature precision and modern production touch.
"For me personally, Lady is one of my favorite songs ever, and it’s one of the songs that got me in love with house and disco music as a kid. I never dared to touch/remix ‘Lady,’ though, until earlier this year. The intention and idea was not to reinvent the wheel, but to create a modern yet timeless and credible melodic summer club/house mix that is truly 100% in service to the original, and I’m pleased with the result. It’s been a highlight in my sets and it feels like it’s the type of mix that a wide range of DJs can play out,” Heldens says.
Heldens’ rework has already received strong live support from Calvin Harris and Carl Cox, both of whom have featured it in their recent sets — a testament to the track’s crossover appeal across the dance music spectrum. The reimagining captures the warmth and nostalgia of the original while recharging it for today’s global dancefloors.
The release arrives during a landmark year for Heldens, who recently celebrated 10 Years of Heldeep Records with a sold-out Amsterdam Dance Event showcase alongside Tchami, Don Diablo, Chocolate Puma, and Lee Foss. With “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”, he continues to bridge eras and sounds, reaffirming his reputation as one of electronic music’s most innovative and enduring talents.
